At ConvertStitches (https://convertstitches.com), we respect your privacy and believe your design files should remain strictly yours. This Privacy Policy outlines our commitment to handling your personal data responsibly and explains how our privacy-first, client-side conversion architecture protects your proprietary artwork.
1. Our Core Principle: Zero Cloud File Storage
ConvertStitches operates entirely as an in-browser, client-side utility:
- No File Uploads: When you select or drag a file (.PES, .DST, .EXP) into ConvertStitches, your file is read directly into your device’s local browser memory via standard HTML5 APIs.
- No Server Processing: Parsing stitch coordinates, rendering preview canvases, and generating target formats (.SVG, .DST, .PES) are executed locally on your computer’s processor using client-side JavaScript.
- No Copies Retained: Your embroidery designs, vector paths, and metadata are never uploaded to, transmitted across, analyzed by, or stored on remote web servers or external cloud storage. Once you close or reload the browser tab, the temporary memory session is wiped.
2. Information We Collect
Because our core tool runs locally on your machine, we collect minimal personal data:
A. Payment & Billing Information
When you purchase a file conversion, payment is processed securely through Stripe (Stripe, Inc.). ConvertStitches does not collect, process, or store your credit card number, CVV code, or banking details on our servers.
- Stripe collects payment information necessary to execute the transaction, which may include your name, email address, billing address, and payment card details.
- Stripe’s handling of your financial information is governed directly by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
B. Temporary Session Data
To facilitate automatic file delivery following a successful Stripe checkout, our script uses your browser’s temporary sessionStorage to hold the parsed coordinate array and base filename.
- This data never leaves your device.
- It is automatically deleted from your browser session upon file download or when the browser session terminates.
C. Website Analytics & Technical Logs
Like most standard websites, our hosting servers may automatically record standard HTTP requests (such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, operating system, and timestamp) strictly for server diagnostics, bot mitigation, and platform stability.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
- Functional Storage: We use HTML5
sessionStoragesolely to preserve your active conversion state during the checkout redirect loop. We do not use persistent local storage to track users across unrelated sessions. - Third-Party Cookies: Stripe may deploy necessary anti-fraud and functional cookies during the payment checkout flow to prevent unauthorized transactions.
4. How We Use Information
Any information collected is used strictly to:
- Facilitate secure credit card processing via Stripe.
- Deliver your purchased file conversion upon payment confirmation.
- Monitor website uptime, server health, and security integrity.
- Respond to customer support inquiries and troubleshoot technical issues.
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal information or contact details to third parties or marketing brokers.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We only partner with trusted infrastructure providers that adhere to stringent security standards:
- Stripe: Payment gateway and fraud prevention services.
- Web Hosting Infrastructure: Standard server hosting maintaining routine access logs and SSL encryption.
6. Data Security
Because your embroidery designs never reach our servers, they are immune to remote cloud-side data breaches on our platform. All data transmissions between your browser and our website (as well as Stripe) are encrypted using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/SSL).
7. Your Data Rights
Depending on your geographic location (including the European Union under GDPR or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as:
- The right to access or receive a copy of personal information we maintain about you (e.g., billing records or support communications).
- The right to request correction or deletion of such records.
- The right to lodge a complaint with a relevant supervisory authority.
To exercise any applicable rights, please reach out to us at the contact address below.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect technical improvements or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted here with an updated “Last Updated” date.
